Several groups have been created in order to better address the needs and desires of the children, according to their age and knowledge of French. They follow a special program designed to put emphasis on acquiring the basics of reading, writing and expressing themselves orally in French and are divided thus, with loose reference to the French school system categories :
Group 1
Children age 4 to 5 years old
Level : Kindergarten / discovery of the ABC and expanding vocabulary in French
Group 2
Children age 5 to 7 years old
Level : preparing for reading skills/ Last year of kindergarten
Group 3
Children age 5 to 8 years old
Level : learning to read / First or second year of Primary school
Group 4
Children age 6 to 10 years old
Level : first steps in reading / Second or third year of Primary school
Group 5
Children age age 10 to 12 years old
Level : working on reading and writing skills/ Third to fourth year of Primary school
Group 6
Children age 11 to 13 years old
Level : advanced readers / End of Primary school to middle school
Group 7
Children age 12 to 15 years old
Level : First to second year of middle school
Group 8 - FLE
Non-native Children who have already started learning French
Level : Intermediate level of French for non-native
